Hoon driver reported
On June 21 an American River man was reported and arrested for hoon driving and driving while under the influence of alcohol. His blood alcohol reading was 0.17. He was advised to leave the Penneshaw hotel earlier in the evening and then was observed doing burnouts and driving without lights. He also had an immediate loss of licence for 12 months.
Thefts reported
Over the weekend of June 14 a Kingscote business premises was broken into and items were taken. The lock was forced open and approximately $3000 worth of items were taken.
Between June 18 and 20 some items were taken from a boat which was at the Kingscote boat ramp for repairs.
Overnight on June 23 a shed on the North Coast Rd, Smith Bay was broken into and 90 litres of petrol was taken.
Overnight on June 24 12 lengths of metal poles were taken from the wharf area, Anzac Drive in Kingscote. The poles were valued at $9000. These poles were to be used in construction of the wharf area.
On June 21 cash was taken from the till at the gate of the oval in Parndana. Two youths have been reported for this theft. The two youths entered the gate taking post and while the attendant was distracted they took the money and ran off.
Vehicle defected
On June 28 a Kingscote man had his vehicle defected for lights, windscreen, oil leaks and to have battery clamps fitted.
