Thursday, September 25 was Grand Final night and end of season wind-up for the Kangaroo Island Table Tennis Association for 2008.
2/10/2008 | KINGSCOTE LADIES GOLF
The ladies enjoyed their game of Bisque-par. It was a good ending to our winter season. In Div 1 there was a three-way tie, Joy Florance, Eileen Uren and Sue Speck all scored 4-up. In the countback, Joy won and Eileen was runner-up. Unfortunately for Sue there was no third prize but she did win nearest-the-pin on number 6.

From Friday Septmber 5 to Sunday September 7, 2008, Kangaroo Island Pony Club hosted a teaching clinic with Noel Vears, an instructor visiting from the mainland, and who is well known to the club and its riders.
25/09/2008 | Sharon May received a Life Membership of the Parndana Sports Club on Sunday 7th September. Members were treated to a three course luncheon which was followed by an interesting talk from Fiona Bussenschutt (nee Pointon). Fiona, who played for the Thunderbirds, told us about her netball career and what it is like to play at an elite level.

On Sunday September 21, in perfect conditions, a quality field of 35 players lined up for the Penneshaw Open.
In the absence of Barry Wheaton, Kangaroo Island’s answer to Tiger Woods, the title was up for grabs.
25/09/2008 | KART TORQUE - Two perfect scores graced our last meeting, Lucy Kempster scoring 100 in Juniors, Bob ‘Grizzly’ Cronin the same in KTs while 125’s saw a tie at the top with both Steve Kempster and Jack Buick racking up 89 points.

There were perfect conditions for football at Penneshaw for the A grade Grand Final between Parndana and Dudley as strong winds in the morning had abated.
Parndana won the toss and kicked with the aid of a light breeze to the southern end.

In Senior Colts old rivals Kingscote and Wisanger squared off for the Trethewey Shield, Wisanger winning the toss to take advantage of a slight breeze.

The nervous A Graders took several minutes to settle and score as underdog Kingscote went out strongly against their more-fancied opponents.

A fast first quarter with accurate shooting and great defence. Kingscote ahead by two at first change.
Tight defence continued into second quarter with many turnarounds. More accurate shooting by by Carla and Deb to give Kingscote a lead by 6 at half time.

Dudley off to a flying start with Julie Helyar rarely missing. Parndana keeping within reach, an injury to Tracey Mathews before the first quarter unsettled them for the second quarter. Dudley at half time by 16 goals. Dudley too strong in the third quarter taking the lead by 23 goals. Fourth quarter both teams a little rattled.

Good conditions for football greeted players in the A grade clash; considering recent rains the Western Districts Committee presented the oval in excellent condition.
28/08/2008 | GOLF - KINGSCOTE LADIES
Pennants: Round One played at Kingscote 21st June. Teams of eight ladies from Parndana and Kingscote enjoyed the match play golf. Three ladies, Jen Trethewey, Jean Dennis and Leonie Florance all played well in their first Pennant experience.

Parndana 45 drew with Dudley United 45
A great display of Netball by the top 2 teams. DU led at each change by 3 and 4 goals. DU Goalies Julie Helyar and Hollie Buick had control in the first half with accurate shooting and very fast passing.

Excellent conditions prevailed at Parndana, the Roosters kicked with the aid of a slight southerly breeze in the 1st quarter.
21/08/2008 | GOLF - On July 29, a freezing cold day with strong winds, and rain, when most people would be indoors by the fire, Judy Bell broke the course record at Parndana Golf Club with a 76. Judy set the previous record of 77 in 1999, and she equalled it in the Parndana Open earlier in the year.
21/08/2008 | NETBALL - Kingscote was fast out of the stalls, building a nine-goal lead in the first quarter as the Parndana goalies were uncharacteristically inaccurate and Kingscote was able to convert the rebounds by Caitlin Berry and Morgan O’Brien.
