COURSE RECORD AT PARNDANA

On July 29, a freezing cold day with strong winds, and rain, when most people would be indoors by the fire, Judy Bell broke the course record at Parndana Golf Club with a 76. Judy set the previous record of 77 in 1999, and she equalled it in the Parndana Open earlier in the year.

Judy is really having a great season, also breaking the Kingscote course record. Congratulations Judy.

The off the stick competition for the day was won by Judy, with Sue Giles runner-up on 90, breaking her handicap from 28 – 26. Sue chipped in on number 10 for a birdie. Heather Mossop won nearest the pin on 14 and Judy had the least putts with 22.

GRETTA HAYLOCK COMPETITION

The first round of the match play foursomes to decide the annual winner of the Gretta Haylock tray was played at Kingscote on July 31. There were four matches, thank you to Marilyn for playing for Parndana. The result was Parndana 2 matches, Kingscote 2.

Nearest the pin on number 3, Marilyn, and on Number 6, Leonie Florance. Sue Speck and Joy Florance won long drives.

The concluding round was played at Parndana on Tuesday August 4, with four matches played. Thank you again to Marilyn and also Jill for playing for Parndana.

Kingscote won 3 matches, Parndana 2, and one all square. Kingscote won the competition – 5 and a half points to 3 and a half.

Judy Bell and Ann Turbill won long drives.

WJ NEIGHBOUR PUTTER

Seventeen players competed for the WJ Neighbour Putter on Sunday August 17th . The overall winner for the day was Trevor Florance with 36 pts on countback from Stev e Bell and Nick Mitchell.

A Grade Winner Steve Bell 36 points. Runner-upDean Wiles 36 pts on countback from Craig Boxer. B Grade Winner Trevor Florance 36 pts on countback. Runner-up Nick Mitchell 36 pts. C Grade Winner Steve Perkins 34 pts. ade Runner-up Geoff Florance 33 pts.

Nearest the Pin No 6 Steve Perkins No 3 Garry Florance No 9 Nick Mitchell.
