Wisanger started ferociously, not giving Kingscote an inch and taking every opportunity, working their way to a nine-goal lead by the first break, Fiona Berden unassailable in goals despite the constant pressure from Jas Florance, Cherikee Berden and later the injured Mel Grimes.
Kingscote regrouped and won the second quarter by a goal but still had the job in front of them with an eight-goal deficit at half-time. Jamie Christophers not only attacking well but playing like a defence in her wing position. Juanita Warena and Caitlin Clifford growing in confidence in goals.
Wisanger again were quick out of the blocks, taking the lead to 11 at one stage before Kingscote pegged them back to be down by nine going into the last quarter. Carla Patterson and Di Johnson forming a formidable defence but Kingscote making it harder and harder for Wisanger to score at the other end as the game went on. Anne VanderGiessen steady and well supported by Jemima Bishop and Lory Whyte through the middle.
The rain held off but Kingscote brought the storm to Wisanger in the last quarter, reeling off six unanswered goals at one point. Cherikee and Shauna Black working strongly through the centre. Cutting their mistakes and maximising their opportunities, the Kingscote girls played it like a grand final and defended well all down the court to get within two and give the Blue Girls a real scare.

Freezing conditions at Wonks on Sunday where most girls would have liked to have been at home by the fire… Wisanger already had an injury during there warm up when their GA Katherine hit the pavement, very bad omen. The Dudley girls started like rockets with tall shooters Emma & Jan not missing any goals. Defences Nat & Emma trying to get any ball they can get their hands on. Wisanger C Julz and WA Ali, doing some beautiful passes into the injured goalies Kristy & Katherine with tough defence from Taryn & Matilda all game. Dudleys WA Sally & Wisangers WD Carlene had their fare share of contests through out every quarter. Great effort from Dudleys centre court, Kelly & Adele. Very close with a 2 goal difference most of the game and Dudley firing ahead in the last 5 mins with the help of their vocal crowd. Fantastic game by all and good luck to the Dudley girls in their next final. See you at the vote count night Jan!!!
