Persistent Reds hunt down Hounds

A Grade

Parndana 47 d Kingscote 28

Kingscote was fast out of the stalls, building a nine-goal lead in the first quarter as the Parndana goalies were uncharacteristically inaccurate and Kingscote was able to convert the rebounds by Caitlin Berry and Morgan O’Brien.

Kingscote went into the second quarter six goals up but the Parndana goalies began to find their mark and their defences double-teamed the strong shooting Carla Smith in Kingscote goals to end the Hounds’ free-scoring run.

It was even at half-time as Kingscote struggled to make its mark in the third quarter, making unforced stepping and passing errors. Sarah Johnson and Tracy Matthews were on target for Parndana and continued in the last quarter, piling on 10 goals without reply. Tash Ingerson was driving well in centre but Kingscote’s unsettled attacking half could find no answer as Parndana tightened its grip on a disappointing game for Kingscote.

Wisanger 62 d Western Districts 43

Wisanger started out very strongly with Lucille and Jane playing well in goals for Wisanger.

Kelly working hard through the centre for Western Districts, Wisanger had a comfortable lead at half time Verity shooting well for Western Districts.

Western Districts fighting hard for the ball in defence.

Ali Stott fell heavily and was replaced by Fiona Berden.

Wisanger still up at three quarter time. The last quarter was an evenly fought contest.

Western Districts fought hard , but Wisanger went to win by 19.

B Grade

Parndana 51 d Kingscote 28

Strong start by Kingscote. Dynamic defence by Sara Budarick, Mel Grimes and Cherikee Berden.

Parndana goalies Ang Horjus and Kate Murray providing strong shooting to regain the lead.

Suzi Watters and Eliza Congdon defending tirelessly down the court.

Girls lucky to stay dry.

Passing by Kingscote needs improving, Parndana proving their desire for a high finish to the season.

Wisanger 41 d Western Districts 40

Even start to the quarter.

Accurate shooting by Wisanger saw them pull ahead by 6 goals in the first quarter.

Excellent second quarter by Western Districts closing the gap to only one goal down at halftime.

Strong quarter by both sides with goals following centre passes with 10 goals a side for the quarter.

Very exciting last quarter with goal for goal.

Western Districts got one goal ahead but a turnover in the last minute by Wisanger saw them win 41-40.

C Grade

Parndana 42 d Kingscote 27

Wisanger (1) 29 d Western Districts 26

In mixed weather conditions both teams went out fast with even scores at quarter time. Second half saw both Wisanger and Western Districts playing hard with Westies out by 3 goals at half time.

Third quarter was tight again with even scores at three quarter time.

Final Quarter saw Wisanger hung onto win by 3 in the end.

Sandy Holmes doing some tricky stuff for Wisanger.

Tania Anderson in centre for Westies, well played. Goalies for both teams giving their all.

Wisanger (2) 45 d Dudley 40

A pleasant start to the game weatherwise. Wisanger coming out strong leading at quarter time.

Dudley regrouping and picking up momentum, catching up some by half time.

In the third quarter both teams playing hard. Dudley doing a fantastic job, equalling the score!

The game is on! Fourth quarter strongly contested. At the whistle, Wisanger ahead by 5 goals. Great game all!

D Grade

Kingscote 21 d Parndana 18

Started off very slowly.

A great game from both teams and very good to watch too.

Nice interceptions from both teams.

15&Under

Wisanger d Western Districts

A fairly even start to the first quarter Wisanger up by 2 at the end quarter.

Wisanger’s strength at defence fought well to defend, making the score at half time Wisanger 5 goals up.

Wisanger position changes proved to their benefit. A shower of rain made things slower for a time.

Three-quarter scores Wisanger 24 Western Districts 16.

Last quarter ensured Wisanger too strong on the day.

Well done to all girls.

Great team efforts, great game to watch.

Kingscote 53 d Parndana 24

Kingscote came out and quickly shot a couple of goals but then Parndana picked up the pace.

Again in the second quarter Kingscote started the quarter with quick accurate shooting.

The wind picked up and made a difference to goals, making rebounds more important at both ends.

Parndana ‘s third quarter was much stronger they out scored Kingscote by one for the quarter.

Kingscote too strong on the day and won by 19.

13&Under

Parndana 43 d Kingscote 27

Started off very even and balanced across the court but Parndana made some effective interceptions giving them more shots at goals and putting them in front by 6 at quarter time.

Parndana‘s strong defence made it difficult for Kingscote in the second quarter, however they closed the gap by 1 goal.

Parndana played a very strong third quarter with their goalies shooting accurately.

Kingscote’s play improved with better leads being made in the last quarter to out score Parndana by 1 in the quarter but Parndana ‘s lead was too much.

Wisanger (1) 43 d Western districts 24

Both teams starting strong, very even first quarter.

Jasmin Laundy for WD getting some great intercepts and Teigan Boxer and Shannon Irlam for Wisanger getting good intercepts too.

Second quarter saw some positional changes but another fairly even quarter.

Wisanger started to pull away in the third quarter with Zoey Wooley playing well in GS for Wisanger

More positional changes in the fourth quarter saw Wisanger coming away with a strong win, but to Western Districts credit they did not give up and all the girls in both teams trying their hardest. Well done!

Dudley United 49 d Wisanger (2) 25

Dudley got off to a good start dominating the game.

They were up by 11at quarter time.

In the second quarter Wisanger were on fire and came back to be down by four.

In the last half Dudley were too strong and ste4amed ahead.

Wisanger did some bad passes which Dudley capitalised on.

All game Rachel Thomas and Shayne Richter fought hard making it harder for the goalies but Dudley’s goalies were able to finish off.

Dayna Florance and Shona Amos worked well together in the goal circle, but Dudley were too strong.

Well done to all girls for their hard efforts.

Thanks to the umpires, scorers and timers.

11&Under

Kingscote 10 d Parndana 3

It was a scrappy game for both sides and neither team was able to show off its skills.
