Parndana 45 drew with Dudley United 45

A great display of Netball by the top 2 teams. DU led at each change by 3 and 4 goals. DU Goalies Julie Helyar and Hollie Buick had control in the first half with accurate shooting and very fast passing. Parndana defences Belinda Clifford, Kasey Willson and Yaeda Dorrestijn lifted a level in the 2nd half rattling DU attacking end. Rachael Litster was very strong through the C for DU creating some great plays and picking up several interceptions. Kirsty Lee Whittingham and Kimberley Wood worked hard for Parndana and had some great passes into goal.

After two draws for the season between these two teams the scene is set for a very exciting finals series – as they meet again next week in the 2nd Semi Final.

Kingscote 59 d Western Districts 19

Kingscote started off strongly and held all game. Some good defence played by Wonks girls but Kingscote still pushed through. Wonks had a fun last half, by mixing up all their tags.

B Grade

Kingscote 59 d Western Districts 23

Good even play for both teams in the first quarter, although Kingscote were up by five in the end. By half time Kingscote were up by 12. Three quarter time Kingscote were up again by more!! The game ended at last with Kingscote shooting 59 goals. Good shooting by Juanita for Kingscote and good shooting by Ellen for Western Districts.

Parndana 64 d Dudley United 50

With finals looming the B grade top two played off at Parndana in cold and cloudy conditions. Both teams a win apiece with Parndana clearly top and keen to cement minor premiership status opened up with the first score on the board.

Dudley’s shooters Sue and Tamra working the ball in for the closer shot often frustrated Parndana defenders, however Parndana managed to lead at quarter time. Anj Horjus was scoring a high percentage of Parndana’s goals, while Kate attacked around the goal circle allowing Anj free range.

Susie and Della once again having impact for their respective teams, and with Gaskin solid in defence. Parndana opened up a 10-goal break by half time. Parndana made some positional changes opting for a younger defence line - Pratt, Congdon and Johnson, and with Amy Sulkowski side-lined, the rebounds started to go Parndana’s way.

Dudley’s Jilli Porter-Baines was persistent, but was pressured into making simple errors by Parndana’s committed defence and the lead went out to 19.

Not to be outdone Dudley rallied together to outscore Parndana in the last, but the game was done and dusted and Dudley would have to settle with going into next week’s semi the under dogs.

Very even play for first quarter with W2 one goal ahead. Sharlene Noble taking some great interceptions with those long arms. Zippy leading and lovely shooting from Katherine Lewis and Kristy Turner for W2. Some great running through the centre for both teams with Julie Hansen always using her voice and Sandy Holmes just runs and runs. Nat Bruce and Emma Buschhueter for W2 in defence both using their long arms to advantage. W1 leapt ahead in the third quarter, with great shooting by Claire Campbell and Skye Baker to be up by 10 goals at the break. Rachel Barr showed great defensive skills at GD. Carlene Pearce and Trish Young had a good tussle through centre court and Ali Berden worked hard all game and fed the ball into the goal circle well. Some nice leading and using of voice by both Emma Hill and Julie Horsfall. Great backing up on centre passes by Marissa Sampson W2. An even last quarter good game to watch. Thanks Jenny and Jeanette for umpiring.

Kingscote 30 d

Western Districts 21

Fine day, no sunshine, but nice for Wonks. Game started off scrappy with girls playing their opposite positions. Jane Weatherspoon playing a lovely game in C and little Tania Anderson playing GA. Kingscote led in first by 4 goals. Second quarter was just amusing, Kingscote still leading by 12. Third, Kingscote WD back to normal positions – better play by Westies. Both teams having fun for their last game for the season - Kingscote leading by six goals. Fourth, Kingscote lead most of quarter, final score Kingscote 30 to 21 Westies.

Kingscote 40 d Western Districts 5

Kingscote came out very strong with Kia and Rakiah shooting some nice goals. Aroha and Vivienne kept them on their toes in defence for WD, sending the ball back down to their shooters, Leah and Erena. Time and time again they found the ring but the ball persisted in going out rather than in. Great tussle by Kate C and Janet in centre. Kingscote’s defence working well in the last quarter. Great game played by all. Well done!

Saints rise to the Hounds’ challenge

Western Districts 41 d Kingscote 35

Great Game. Fantastic effort for WD. Kingscote are such a strong force. Glad to see WD rise to the challenge. Goalies shot well on both sides. Great pressure through mid court which allowed Jess Turner to play a ripper. Looking forward to watching you all in the finals.

13&Under

Wisanger 1 32 d Wisanger 2 16

Hard fought game W1 steadier with goalies on fire. W2 losing ball due to erratic passing. All girls played well in good spirit. Great end to the season for Wisanger 1. Best for W2 Rachel Berlin, Shona Amos and Rachel Thomas and for W2 Michaela Wait, Maddie Lade and Natasha Boxer.

Dudley United 37 d Parndana 34

Kimberley May and Millie Speed passing around the ring well to Cori Kelly and Chelsea Hicks. Great defensive lean by Jasmin. Parndana leading in front down the court which was good to see. DU finding it difficult to get the ball into the ring with Morgan Breeding, Emma Gaskin and Becky Watters pouncing on every loose ball. Shai and Ella presented continuously to Jade and Anna. Ricki-Lee using her voice. At half time it was one goal the difference. Both teams made positional changes. DU defences Jasmin and Sariah worked well with Anna and Chloe to get the ball to goalies Maddie and Shai. Three quarter time P were one goal up- great even play. More positional changes for both teams – a great game to watch well done girls. DU came out in front in the last 5 minutes.

Kingscote 49 d

Western Districts 33

In beautiful sunshine both teams played with conviction in the first half of the match, Kingscote’s goals finding the ring a bit more often than WD. Western Districts really lifted in the third quarter and gave the opposition a good competition. Karlee in goals showing great skills for Western Districts. Brianna (WD) and Eliza (K) in centres kept the game moving quickly. A great effort by both teams.

11&Under

Western Districts 21 d Kingscote 16

Game started quite even, all girls working well down the court. Great back up by Kate Faint. Aleeysha Douglas Hill working well in defence. Second quarter Kingscote fighting hard for the ball, scores even at half time. Ball turning over all the time with not many goals scored in the third quarter, all girls working hard - Western Districts just taking the lead. Emma Riggs was fantastic in GD with Georgia Weatherspoon and Jess Lovering intercepting well. Last quarter Lilly Crowder-Mahlo and Jaymee Hanna shooting well with Emma Boyle also shooting well for WD. Western Districts too strong in the end with a five goal win. Great game.

Netta

Western Districts 9 d Kingscote 6

Very even first quarter with Chloe Ryan defending well. Tanner Morris moving well in WA. Great second quarter with Grace Sheridan and Ashleigh Green working well in goals. Tayla Weatherspoon and her sister Sarah trying hard in defence. Lauren Downing and Eliza Anderson shooting well for Westies, Ella Buick and Zoe Morris trying hard for their teams. Mikaela King getting a few intercepts. Bridget Benney and Lili Barrett having a good tussle in the goal area, Matilda Southgate doing well for Kingscote as was Jordan Martin, Gemma Carlson and Scarlett Sullivan. Ebony Morris was moving well in centre. Good game played by all girls.

Parndana v Dudley United

What an exciting game – all girls were enthusiastic and concentrating very well for the last game of the Netta Season.

DU age and experience was very clear as they scored 17 goals. Well done Aisiah Lehmann and Sophie Thomas. The improvement over the last 12 weeks is fantastic to see and congratulations should go to some solid coaching efforts. For Parndana Ella was great in defence and Alex and Nataskia showed lovely leading in attack.

Well done all girls and we will see all six Netta teams at Parndana next Saturday for the end of season Round Robin and Presentation. This commences at 10am – so it will be great for all Parents, Grandparents etc to come out and support our Netballers of the future.
