Parndana v Dudley

Excellent conditions prevailed at Parndana, the Roosters kicked with the aid of a slight southerly breeze in the 1st quarter.

The opening was tight and fast, with quick ball movement. D Trethewey scored Parndana’s first.

S Windsor scored Parndana’s second, after being rewarded for a good tackle. Parndana scored three more for the quarter, with Dudley having trouble penetrating Parndana’s half back line.

Dudley returned the favour by dominating the second term, with N Clark marking well up forward. B Howard’s height was troubling Parndana’s defence. Goals to C Wilson, N Clark, L Jones and B Howard saw scores level before D Trethewey scored Parndana’s only goal for the quarter. Dudley’s inaccuracy in front of goal prevented them from having a handy lead at half time.

The third quarter was tight and hard with neither side gaining ascendancy. Dudley’s Mail Medal favourite, C Wilson was playing well, kicking two goals for the term. Dudley’s ruckmen Gurney and B Howard were winning the ruck hit-outs, giving the Dudley onballers first use of the ball.

The last term saw Dudley win the ball at the opening bounce, one kick to C Wilson who goaled to level the scores. Parndana steadied with a goal to N Trethewey.

N Dugmore played well to get the next two for Parndana, good running from the wing by B May saw him mark and convert to score Parndana’s 13th taking the game out of Dudley’s reach.

Spectators were treated to a good game of football; both sides will look forward to the final series. The competition is much more even this year, with all finalists having a genuine chance to take the flag.

Parndana v Dudley United

Dudley United opened up with the first goal and Parndana quickly replied with big ‘Wal’ kicking true and a second goal to ‘Super’ after Hahn’s hit him with a nice pass.

Harmen kicked DU first goal of the second quarter, with the help of a kind bounce, then ‘Peasy’ kicked another.

Parndana continued to attack but missed opportunities. ‘Nielsa’ kicked another to put DU in a good position at half time.

Parndana started the third quarter well, but still missed vital goals. DU rebounded and found ‘Dinga’ who marked strongly and goaled. Hahns is in everything and kicks a much needed goal for the Roosters.

Last quarter and Parndana attacking but can’t score until ‘Super’ slots one from the boundary, then a quick centre clearance to Parndana and ‘SK’ marks and goals to give the Roosters a two point win, and a spot in the finals.

Parndana vs Dudley United

First quarter, in fine calm conditions at Rooster land for the first time in weeks the scene was set for a great day of footy. Parndana were doing all the attacking early with Ben Heatly scoring the first major for the Roosters, two more quick ones to Parndana and one on the siren to the big ruckman, Ashley Kelly, set the Roosters up for a big game.

Second quarter, an even quarter at the start until captain Eden Cohen slotted on through and then Jesse Gaskin with a clever snap for another one saw the Roosters edging away. The Eagles went forward positively plenty of times this quarter, unfortunately only resulting in points. Brent Kirby was starting to have an impact with some good work through the midfield and saw young Oliver Jones slot through the Eagles first with a clever snap on the goal line. Hahns had a great quarter across half back.

Third quarter, the Eagles started well applying good pressure to Parndana with goals seemingly hard to come by this term. Young Ty Martain for Dudley United playing well in defence, stopping most of the Rooster attacks – a very even quarter.

Fourth quarter the Roosters were first into attack with a great running goal on the left to Tyson Barter. Zack Crisso chipped on through and the Roosters were away. Brent Kirby never stopped trying all game and set up some good plays for the Eagles. Hahns Sullivan kicked a great goal from the boundary in what had to be a B.O.G performance.

Big Hamsy got a nice handpass on the goal line and kicked the easiest of goals on the siren. A top effort by both teams.
